Anna is now an active soloist, teacher, chamber and orchestral musician, and has performed in beloved venues such as Benaroya Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and the Brevard Music Center. Past performance highlights include performing Zigeunerweisen with the Tacoma Young Artists Orchestra, which was reviewed as “electrifying” and “breathtaking” by the Tacoma Arts blog. She recently performed as a soloist in MassOpera’s eclectic production of La Traviata, which took place at the Eustis Estate in Milton, MA. Anna spent multiple summers at the Evergreen Music Festival, where she held terms as concertmaster, and at the Brevard Music Center, where she studied privately with Byron Tauchi. Anna graduated from Boston University with a major in Violin Performance, minor in English, and coursework in Arts Leadership. While there, she studied in the studio of Dana Mazurkevich as well as Yuri Mazurkevich, and performed frequently as a chamber musician with coaching from the Muir String Quartet. From 2019 until 2020, Anna served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Boston Medical Center. Throughout her residency, she created moments with music that contributed to the positive wellbeing of many facing extraordinary challenges in their lives. Performing in lobbies and surgical units at the Boston Medical Center was an enlightening experience; her favorite memory is of a young girl dancing ballet to the music. A patron at a performance remarked, “You can’t listen to this music and not have hope for the future.” Anna enjoys creative and academic writing, as well as the study of vocal performance across a variety of genres. Named Boston University’s Poet Representative for the 2020 Greater Boston Intercollegiate Undergraduate Poetry Festival, her craft in poetry informs her musical performance as a violinist and vocalist. Anna has been teaching private violin lessons for over nine years to students of all levels and ages. Her approach balances musical expression and technical training, aiming to develop freedom of body, warmth of sound, and individuality.
